CATEGORIES
Butchers can enter pork products into 12 product categories including; pork sausages, burgers, bacon, gammon, pork pies, ready meals, black pudding, offal based products and meatballs. Any awards gained are presented on the night so that butchers can promote their achievements straight away.
JUDGING
The products are all evaluated by a team of industry experts on attributes such as appearance, consistency, texture, taste and smell. Points are deducted from a starting point of 100 for non conformity of any of the attributes. The judging is based on the NASCO Judging criteria - National Approved Standards for Competition Organisers.
