Legislation
The introduction of, and changes in, environmental legislation will have a large impact on the pig industry over the next few years. In order to comply with the legislation, it may be necessary for producers and processors to re-invest.
BPEX is working closely with the National Pig Association (NPA), the National Farmers Union (NFU) in England, Scotland and Wales and the British Meat Processors Association (BMPA) to provide the industry with technical support and advice.
As new regulations come into place and updates become available, you can stay informed by visiting the BPEX website.
A pocket book summarising the key figures and legislative requirements for pig accommodation in England has been published by BPEX – download
