Lorry wash facilities – grant opportunities

Defra grants are on offer for investments by rural businesses. This could be an opportunity for processors or other interested parties to upgrade lorry wash facilities.
Abattoir lorry wash facilities must be adequate for drivers to clean and disinfect vehicles to a high standard – this is key to help minimise risk of disease transmission in the supply chain.
As part of the Cleaner Lorries campaign BPEX has worked with livestock hauliers, abattoirs and BQAP to identify best practice and the improvements that can be made. In addition, the new BQAP biosecurity clause will become auditable from 1 July 2012.
Sam Hoste of Quantech Solutions will be online to outline what information is needed to apply and how to increase your changes of being successful, with advice on common pitfalls and how to add value.
