A panel was set up by DEFRA to consider appeals against new NVZ designations received until 31st January 2009.  Some 700 appeals were submitted and the window of opportunity to submit appeals is now closed. 

DEFRA has published a summary of decisions made so far by the NVZ Appeals Panel at:  http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/quality/water/waterquality/diffuse/nitrate/documents/appeals-table.pdf and the remaining appeals should be determined by January 2010.
