I am trying to develop a mix of yoghurt, glucose and acidifier to give my piglets as a scour reducer?
These products are available commercially (eg pigletsart, colostar etc) and seem to be unit, or even stockman, specific - some people swear by them, some hate them.
These
products are not going to prevent outbreaks of scour, but may leave the piglet
in a better place to fight off the infection. If scour is a problem, diagnostics
(swabs and culture) would be useful to identify the problem.
The volume
administered is significant (usually it is 1 or 2 ml) as too much may actually
be counterproductive, this may be a risk factor in turkey feeder presentation
rather than oral dosing.
