Colour Coding Treatments - 17th October 2008

Why not colour code your treatments like a finishing pig producer in East Anglia does? Included in the farms treatment protocol each condition/ medical treatment has been given a colour, which the pig will be sprayed with afterwards.

I.e.
Lame="redScour="blueTail bitten="green"
Etc.

That way everyone knows what treatment or illness a given mark on a pig means, and it makes it reduces misunderstandings between staff - in particularly when weekends are covered by others than the normal staff crew.
The system is fully applicable to both breeding and grower/ finisher sites
