At a recent Midlands Pig Club meeting, veterinarian David Chennells gave advice on recording, especially the level of detail recorded. So the next time you have a mortality in the finishing herd, don't just put a "1" in a column, record as much as possible, i.e weight, age, why, where (pen/building),when, and who (breed/source). All this is important information when you analyse your records to try and identify the factors involved.
